SAGAS Objectives

•         Stroke prevention: 

  1. Improve quality of services and knowledge of care-providers in regard to primary and secondary stroke prevention.
  2. Develop and unify nationwide guidelines and protocols for stroke prevention.
  3. Increase awareness of preventable risk factors and their control.

•         Acute Stroke treatment: 

  1. Improve public awareness about acute treatment and the importance of early recognition of stroke.
  2. Improve quality of services and knowledge of care providers in regard to acute stroke therapy.
  3. Develop and unify nationwide guidelines and protocols for acute stroke therapy.

•         Identify socio-economic impact of stroke in Saudi Arabia: 

  1. Establish a national stroke registry.
  2. Help and share in promoting research in the field of stroke.
