The group conducted its fifth
lecture tour session in King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital, Taif on the morning of Thursday,
June 3, 2004. The session was organized by the hospital and was called the first
Taif Stroke Conference. Large number of physicians and care giver were present. The group is very thankful to
the Hospital General Manager, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Zahrani, the Medical Director,
Dr. Mohammed Abbas, the head of Medical Education, Dr. Hashim Khotanli, the head
of Medicine Department, Dr. Humaid Al-Salmi and Dr. Sameer Momenah,
Consultant Neurologist for their excellent organization and
hospitality.
The program
started with a verse from the holly Quraan, followed with the first session when Dr.
Sameer Momenah gave a lecture on stroke definitions, classification and
pathopysiology. Then Dr, Khoja gave a lecture on acute ischemic stroke
treatment. The second session was on neuroradiology in stroke, carotid
endarterectomy and stroke cases, given by Dr. Samieallah Khan (Consultant
Radiologist), Dr. Tarik Abdulbari (Consultany Neurosurgeon) and Dr. Khoja.
It is worth mentioning that this
scientific activity was the first to be conducted in this newly operating
hospital, and it is the group honor to be there in this event.
