1st annual Makkah course on Basic Acute Stroke Care
Part of our annual participation to share in stroke world day activity , we would like to announce for our 1st annual Makkah course on Basic Acute Stroke Care on 7-8/11/2009 in Alnoor specialist hospital /research center with target to prepare a generation of physicians ,nurses in emergency departments ,medical departments and intensive care units and hopefully stroke care units to have at least the basic acute stroke care depending on the recent stroke guide line by American academy of neurology , American stroke association ,American heart association and Saudi stroke association and the experience of the new growing Makkah Advisory Neuro Group consist of the Makkah present neurologist , neurosurgeons , neuroradiologist and neuropsychiatrists and neurorehabilitation.
The course consist of two days the fist day is academic on lectures basis and second day is open work shop with real stroke case discussion on questions and answers basis to cover the most practical points in managements of acute stroke cases in emergency room and in patient services particularly the newly developed acute stroke unit in Alnoor specialist hospital which consist of 12 beds
This IS followed by about 30 MCQs that cover most stroke topics presented in the first day lectures and the workshop (the attendees will have the chance to receive a book or CD contain basic acute stroke care and 100MCQs one week before the course)
the candidate who pass 50% will get hopefully a certificate to identify him or her as Basic Acute Stroke Care (BASC) provider simulating the present Basic live support BCLS certificate recognized by Saudi heart association
So we hope this course to be nationally announced by our great Saudi stroke association and we hope this course to be recognized by Saudi stroke association and to give us the honor of putting Saudi stroke association logo on attendance certificate and BASC provider certificate
